Shimano EW-EC300 Charging Cable
What Does the Shimano EW-EC300 Charging Cable Charge?
The EW-EC300 is the dedicated charging cable for Shimano's current 12-speed Di2 systems, including the Dura-Ace R9250 and Ultegra R8150 groupsets. It connects directly to the BT-DN300 internal Di2 battery via the battery's charge port, allowing the system to be charged without removing the battery from the frame or seatpost. The EW-EC300 also charges the integrated power meter units in the Dura-Ace FC-R9200-P and Ultegra FC-R8100-P cranksets, making it the single charging solution for both electronic shifting and power meter functionality in those builds.
The cable uses Shimano's EW-SD300 connector interface on one end, which plugs into the Di2 charge port, and a standard USB-A connector on the other end for connection to any USB power source. This replaces the older BCR2 charger used with previous Di2 generations and is not backward compatible with older battery types. For riders building or maintaining a current 12-speed Shimano Di2 drivetrain, this cable is a required accessory for keeping the system charged and ready. A single cable serves both the rear derailleur charge port and, where applicable, the power meter crankset charge port.
